Hope Series Part 5: Hope that Will Not Disappoint
Sunday Sep 21, 2025
Sunday Sep 21, 2025
Hope is a word we love to use, but so often struggle to live. We hope for better health, stronger relationships, brighter futures—but if we’re honest, those hopes often feel fragile, easily shaken by circumstances beyond our control. Romans 15:13 reminds us that hope is not something we manufacture, but something God Himself supplies. He is not only the giver of hope—He is the source of it. And when we trust Him, Paul says He will fill us with joy and peace until our lives overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. This morning, we’ll explore what it means to live not with a trickle of hope, but with an overflow that sustains us and spills into the lives of others.

Hope Series Part 4: Hope that Conquers
Life is full of giants. For some it’s a mountain of debt, for others a devastating diagnosis, a broken relationship, or an uncertain future. Those giants can make us feel small, powerless, and hopeless. That’s exactly what Israel faced in Numbers 13—the Promised Land was before them, but so were enemies that seemed impossible to defeat. Ten spies said, “We can’t.” But Caleb, filled with faith, said, “We are well able, because God is with us.” The difference was not in the size of the giants, but in the size of their God in their hearts. And that is where hope that conquers begins—not in circumstances, but in confidence that God is who He says He is and that He works all things together for good.

The Hope Series Part 2: Thirst That Awakens Hope
The Cry of the SoulEvery human heart knows what it is to thirst. Our bodies remind us daily that without water we cannot survive. Yet Scripture teaches us that there is a deeper thirst—one that no well, no stream, no earthly pleasure can satisfy. The psalmist cries out, “I thirst for God, the living God” (Psalm 42:2), and Jesus declares blessing upon those who hunger and thirst for righteousness (Matthew 5:6). This thirst is not a mark of weakness but of life itself, a holy ache placed within us by God to draw us to Him. As Charles Spurgeon once said, “The longing of a believer’s soul is after his God. He has no desire for the mere outward services, he longs for communion with God Himself.” Today we will see how spiritual thirst reveals life, directs us toward righteousness, and awakens hope in the God who satisfies.
